Screw compressor oil is essential for compressor operation
Oil-injected screw compressors require oil to perform several key functions:
1.Cooling
Helps dissipate the heat generated during the compression process to prevent overheating. If the compressor
temperature is too high, the airend or all rotating parts will be overstressed and their service life will be shortened.
2.Lubrication
Prevents friction and wear of moving parts, especially the rotor. Metal-to-metal contact can cause operating
problems and premature failure.
3.Sealing
Creates an effective seal between the rotor and the housing for efficient compression.
4.Cleaning and Filtration
Captures contaminants and impurities in the intake air to protect internal components.
5.Noise Reduction
Reduces compressor noise by acting as a sound barrier.
Using ordinary lubricants and improper maintenance can negatively affect the lifespan, overall performance and
energy efficiency of the machine.
